    关于伟玺的艺术之路及其风格研究的文章,近时散见于报刊杂志及一些专业刊物,可谓多视角不同论点。总体尚能反映伟玺的治学态度、成就及其个性特点。其中,致公党中央副主席、中国美术家协会副主席黄格胜先生《士先器识而后文艺—顾伟玺的中国画》分析研究了伟玺数十年奋斗的经历、成就及其因缘,具有一定的学术性和理论研究价值。以“士先器识而后文艺”这一标题来介绍伟玺的治学和修为,是非常妥贴的。
    伟玺与我近三十年前即结下了师生缘,那时我在南艺教中国美术史,伟玺是中国画专业的本科生。那时学生做论文都是手写,伟玺的字体写得很大,认真执着,文笔、才思都是出众的,已经显示出他的理论素养及艺术研究的过人才情和能力,我当时就预料他将来必能成就一番事业。果然不出我所料,伟玺长期坚持艺术探索与实践,在今天,他的理论研究和艺术创作成果都具有了一定的高度和影响力,正在崛起为更具影响力和学术地位的艺术家。
    2003年,伟玺被上海人才引进随我调入上海大学工作。我担任艺术研究院院长,伟玺任办公室主任、院长助理。我们共同奋斗,努力付出,为上海大学的美术学科构建并成为上海唯一的美术学博士点做了很多工作,伟玺作出了不可替代的重要贡献。那段沪上拓展创业的日子,我们同吃同住,学院的基础建设、招生、教学、科研、创作等工作一起抓。这些经历,成为我们艺术人生中一段永不磨灭的记忆。
    伟玺为人诚厚,治学严谨刻苦,也很能做事,行政管理能力和社会拓展能力都非常强,这在圈内也是大家所公认的。因此,伟玺又在黄格胜先生的力邀下被广西人才引进,于2010年离开上海,只身前往广西艺术学院,在中国最早建立全国仅有两所以中国画命名之一的广西艺术学院桂林中国画学院担任副院长,兼任广艺美术馆馆长。伟玺去广西,我虽然舍不得,但还是给予了支持,因为我知晓他的抱负和人生目标。广西丰富的地理人文资源,以及置身异地的拓展历练,必然有利于丰满他的人生,增加他的厚度,历练他的性格,发挥他的才情,积淀他的学术。如我所料,伟玺在广西的工作很顺利,作为广西艺术学院艺术史学科学术带头人,主持了省部级、地厅级等一批重点科研项目。出版了几本专著,创作了《上思魔石谷》、《老山界》等一批山水精品力作,为广西漓江画派建设和地域美术研究作出了重要贡献。
    2012年,时值南京艺术学院百年华诞,伟玺又被母校引进回江苏工作。任中国画研究院执行院长,担任山水画、花鸟画及美术学理论三个研究方向的研究生导师。全身心的投入到母校的学科建设和教学、科研、创作工作中,开始了又一段全新的艺术探索历程。
    伟玺近30年“不息的变动”,地域纵横于北京、上海、江苏、广西。流转浸染于京派、海派、金陵画派及漓江画派。于学术则沉潜于艺术史学兼及美学研究,绘画更兼容人物、山水、花鸟、和书法篆刻,伟玺这种于文化的不同地域性的观照研究体悟,以及于艺术研究与实践的深度、广度、宽度的探索、追求、历练的长期过程,使他的艺术创作及其作品显现出独特而鲜明的个人风格,从而在日益繁荣而风格样式纷呈的艺术领域卓然一家,尽显风骚。
    伟玺少时即善绘画,稍长又系统临习《郑文公碑》、《张迁碑》,涉及苏、黄、米、蔡宋代书法四家。上世纪80年代,伟玺入南艺后又倾心于三代金文,潜心研摹篆隶,临习《爨龙颜》、《爨宝子》,最后落到李北海的《麓山寺碑》,形成其朴厚雄健的书写线条,并由此融入其花鸟和山水画的创作中,对其绘画风格形成产生了重要影响。
    伟玺的花鸟画,远师宋人的雍容朴厚气息,近取石涛、八大的生机盎然意趣,其画风中的劲厉恣肆汪茫,又显见徐青藤的影响。伟玺画面中除了大气、雄厚、生动,更贵有气韵,贵有雅逸之气,这使得他从传统渊薮中跳脱出来,使之既合于传统矩度,更具有鲜明的时代气息和当代特质,彰显了属于伟玺自己的风格特点。使其作品于当代花鸟画中独具一格,意趣天成,标帜了写意花鸟画当代探索的新高度。
    伟玺的山水画面世数量并不多,主要是黄山写生和去广西后以广西山形水势为表现对象的部分作品,有些作品已广为大家所熟悉,多能雄厚磅礴,气势撼人,究其渊源,一方面显见临习研究宋画由宋人筑基,又能以书法的意趣和篆刻的金石气入画。其次,伟玺的山水画,显见于从师法自然至道法自然的探索发展过程,黄山写生及广西十万大山的独特地形地貌的观察写生和感悟对其山水画的风格形成产生了重要影响。
    2012年后,伟玺于花鸟的云南写生及山水的太行山、云台山诸名山佳境的写生云游为其艺术新境的构建拓开了更加宽广的视野,创作了一批超越既往具有新的水准和高度的艺术作品,使其成为一位“既有学术厚度、学识修养又于艺术创作日渐臻于新境和新高度的新锐艺术家”。(摘自《澄怀味道—顾伟玺中国画研究》)
伟玺正值盛年,学识、才情、修养俱足,理论与实践并重,山水、花鸟、人物、书法兼能,且其勤学不辍,因此他的明天不可限量。而在当下,他的作品已经拥有那么多的追捧者、知音和藏家,以及通晓画理画法,懂得赏鉴的行里行外的艺评者的肯定和赞赏;他的理论研究成果的广泛影响力和实际应用价值等等;这一切已经足以说明他的艺术探索及其成果的学术高度,同时也标示了其艺术作品所具有的深刻的文化意涵和收藏研究价值。

    About Weixi’s  road of art and style of research, recently referring to newspapers and magazines and some professional journals, different arguments and multiple points of view can be seen. Generally, it can reflect the Weixi’s  attitude, achievements and personality traits. Among them, Mr. Huang Gesheng, the vice chairman of the central committee of Zhigong Party, vice chairman of the Chinese Artists Association, expressed in “Gentleman Knows Organs and then Literature and Art—Gu Weixi’s Chinese Painting”, which analyzed the Weixi’s several decades of struggling experience, achievement and karma, and had certain academic and theoretical research values. “Gentleman Knows Organs and then Literature and Art”, such a title is appropriate to introduce the study and manner of Gu Weixi. 
    Weixi and I nearly thirty years ago, were the teachers and students, I was teaching Chinese art history in Nanjing Art School, and Weixi was a professional undergraduate student of Chinese painting. At that time, all the papers are hand writing, and the his words were big, but earnest, so the talent is outstanding, which shown his theory accomplishment and artistic research of extraordinary intelligence and ability, I expected at that time he would be able to achieve in the future. Just what I thought, Weixi had adhered to the exploration and practice of art for a long term, today, his artistic creation and theory research results have a certain height and influence, which is an artist with influential and academic status. 
    In 2003, Weixi was introduced to work in Shanghai University with me. I worked as dean of Art Academy; Weixi was office director, an assistant of the dean. We struggled together, made great contribution to the construction of art discipline of Shanghai University and made it became the exclusive doctoral program of fine arts, Weixi made irreplaceable important contribution. The days in Shanghai, while expanding business, we ate and lived together, all the infrastructure, recruitment, teaching, scientific research and creative work are handled together. These experiences were our eternal memory in our art life.
    Weixi is truly honesty, hardworking with good administrative ability and social ability, which is also known in the circle. Therefore, Weixi has been introduced by Mr. Huang Gesheng, so leaving Shanghai in 2010, go alone to Guangxi Arts College, there are two institutes in the early time. Although I was reluctant, but sending some supports, because I known his ambition and life goal. The rich geographic human resources and the allopatric expansions must be helpful for enriching his life, and increasing his level, practicing his characters, and promoting his talent and depositing his academy. Just what I thought, Weixi worked smoothly in the Guangxi, and became the academic leader of art history in Guangxi Academy of Arts, was in charge of key research projects. He published several monographs, and created good works such as Great thoughts in Magic Stone Valley, Yuecheng Mountains, and made significant contribution to the construction of Lijiang River School and the regional art research. 
    In 2012, while the Centenary of Nanjing Art College, Weixi was introduced to work back Jiangsu. As the executive director of Chinese Painting Institute, he was in charge of the research supervisor working of landscape painting, flower and bird painting and the fine arts theory. He made a commitment to the mother school’s discipline construction and teaching, scientific research and creative work, beginning a brand new art exploring process.
    Thirty years’ constant endeavor, traveling from Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Guangxi, Weixi covers the school of Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing and Lijiang. In aesthetic research, he immersed in art history and painting research, and the paintings contain figures, landscapes, flowers and birds painting, and calligraphy and seal cutting, Wexi’s reflection and research on the different regional culture, and the study of art and practice of exploration, the pursuit of the depth, breadth, width, long-term process of experience, all made his artistic creation and the works show unique and distinctive style, thus displaying the booming and the style of art exhibitions, all show coquettish. 
    When in Childhood, Weixi was good at painting, sometimes he systematically facsimiled Zheng Wen Gong Bei, Zhang Qian Bei, referring four calligraphers. In 1980s, since entering in Nanjing Art School, Weixi was devoted to three generations’ inscriptions on ancient bronze objects, learning Cuan Long Yan, Cuan Bao Zi, and finally, Li Beihai’s Li Shan Shi Bei, shaping pure and powerful lines, and thus blending them into the creation of flowers and birds works, which had a great impact on the style. 
    Flower and bird painting of Weixi, far poets in grace simple and loyal breath, almost taken over interest and vibrant strength and complete outer painting style, and obvious effect of Xu Qingteng. Weixi owned a artistic conception in addition to the atmosphere, rich, vivid, which made him jump out from traditional projects, making it suitable for both the traditional size and distinctive flavor of the times and contemporary characteristics, revealing his own style characteristics, and making his works in contemporary Chinese paintings unique and natural, which emblem new heights of the contemporary brushwork flowers and birds painting.
    The number of landscape painting appeared a few; he mainly sketches Huangshan and Guangxi mountains and waters. Some works had been widely familiar with strong momentum. On the one hand, He researched Song poets in the preconditions, and shown interests of calligraphy and seal cutting of epigraphy. Secondly, his landscape painting was evidently in nature, from morality to the exploration of the development process, the sketch of Guangxi’s hundreds of Huangshan mountainous unique landform, sketch of observation and comprehension has produced important influences on the landscape painting style formation.
    After2012, Weixi expanded his view via the traveling in Yunnan’s flowers and birds, Tai-hang Montain, Yuntai Mountain, thus created a batch of high-level and high-precision artistic works, which make him to be a “new artist of good academy, good culture, and higher than the ordinary condition”.     Weixi just is in a good situation with good knowledge and sound talent both at theory and practice, and integrates mountains and waters, flowers and birds, figures and calligraphy, and he is diligent, thus his future will be limitless. However, nowadays, his works have owned fans and collectors, and won approval and appreciation; his theoretical research and result have extensive impacts and practical application value and so on; all of them sufficiently illustrate his art exploration and high academy level of results, simultaneously, indicate the works’ significant cultural meanings and collective and research values.
